Hi, we had a slight problem the other day.caravan came from a flight and on shutdown there was white smoke coming out of the air inlet.lots of smoke.when you check the manual there is nothing about smoke from the air inlet.they talk about white smoke from the exhaust.we carried out a ground and it there was nothing after that.Has anyone got an explanation or has experienced something like this

Did you find out the cause ?
A little more information will help to figure it out.

I've seen this a couple times over the years with the feeders. Could be the #2 bearing cavity becoming flooded (scavenged by blow down and gravity).

The planes this happened on were different and it was pretty much a one time occurrence.

We did not find out the cause but i think the pilot did not carry out a proper shutdown not positive .So i think when he shutdown the fuel did not cutoff completely and some fuel trickled in to the burner can which caused the white smoke.

that would also make a large amount of the mist blow out the exhaust pipe (introducing fuel after the fire is out). Does big time on SAAB 340's!!!
